About Rich

Born and raised in Taiwan, I moved to the United States to pursue dual Master’s degrees and specialized clinical training in Marriage and Family Therapy. I specifically help East Asian and Asian-American individuals and couples navigate the complex intersection of cultural expectations, high career pressure, and modern relationship stress. I know what it looks like when the lines between honoring your life experience and culture and building an authentic partnership become blurred.

You are likely managing a demanding career, complex family dynamics, and the pressure to hold everything together. When other aspects of your life require this much energy and attention, long-term communication breakdowns at home don't just cause tension—they sacrifice your peace. You might be exhausted by the exact same recurring fight with your partner. You do not need to simply "live with it."

Our work together will not consist of talking in circles. My role is to help you map the dysfunctional cycles that keep you stuck. Whether we are untangling the complex emotions or stopping the endless loop of conflict in your relationship, our goal is clear: to establish a healthier, highly supportive framework for both partners. You will leave equipped with an effective communication skill set, a grounded sense of your own boundaries, and a reconnected bond with one another.

Modalities and Lens

Emotionally-Focused Therapy

We move beyond surface-level communication tips to identify your core emotional needs. By mapping these unmet needs, we fundamentally restructure how you and your partner respond to the stress and conflict that have eroded your connection.

Structural Family Therapy

We assess the invisible rules and boundaries operating within your relationships. By realigning dysfunctional hierarchies and reinforcing healthy boundaries, we dismantle enmeshment and establish a clear, highly supportive family structure.

Attachment-Based Therapy

We objectively examine how early relational bonds shape your current attachment style—whether anxious or avoidant. This framework decodes why specific behaviors trigger intense reactions and guides the systematic repair of fundamental trust.

Experiential & Humanistic Therapy

Rather than purely analyzing the past, we focus on your present-moment, lived experiences in the room. We utilize active techniques to process blocked emotions, bypass intellectualization, and foster authentic self-expression.

Person-Centered Lens

Therapy remains strictly grounded in your autonomous goals. Through a non-judgmental and collaborative environment, we facilitate your internal capacity for self-direction, allowing you to align your daily actions with your core values.

Culturally Responsive Framework

Navigating the intersection of traditional East-Asian expectations and a high-achieving lifestyle requires specific, actionable strategies to bridge cultural gaps while maintaining your authentic identity.
